Oak Brook provides easy access for car travel, with most residences situated near major highways like the E Tollway, making commuting straightforward. The village features convenient cycling infrastructure that supports alternative transportation options. Dining options are plentiful, including over 100 restaurants and coffee shops, offering diverse culinary experiences. Numerous green spaces are scattered throughout, providing natural areas to visit from various points within the village. The neighborhood predominantly consists of three- and four-bedroom single detached homes built mainly between 1960 and 1980, complemented by some larger apartment buildings. Quiet streets and nearby amenities combine to create a balanced and peaceful environment.

There is a reasonably good selection of green spaces in Oak Brook. There are a few green spaces close by for residents to enjoy, like York Woods Forest Preserve and Fullersburg Park, and they are very well-spread out, which makes it easy to reach them from the majority of locations in the village. Finally, this part of the Chicago metropolitan area remains relatively quiet, as there are very few people out and about on the streets; however noise levels are higher closer to Ronald Reagan Memorial Hwy (Toll Road) or Tri-State Tlwy.
